BIOGRAPHY:
AJ Lowery joins our team after 12 years as an Apprentice Electrician. His primary responsibility at MEP Engineering includes field survey. His electrical field work background gives AJ unique knowledge on site survey. This knowledge allows him to easily recognize existing conditions that need MEP Engineering to address during design. He works directly with our Tenant Improvement Team on a weekly basis assisting them in meeting the tight deadlines that TI work demands. Because of his unique work experience, AJ is frequently brought on to larger renovation projects to identify and analyze complex building’s branch circuit wiring.

Outside of work, AJ has a young son and absolutely loves being a dad. He enjoys camping and watching a variety of sports. AJ’s favorite foods are Mexican and BBQ.

Alicia came to MEP Engineering in October 2012 after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. Following her Bachelor’s Degree, Alicia decided that she wanted to learn more, and received her Associate’s Degree in CAD at Westwood College of Denver.

Alicia was born and raised in Billings, MT with her younger brother. She is super crafty; give her a thrift store piece of furniture and she can turn it into a work of art with just some paint and upholstery. In July of 2015, craft projects took a back seat when Alicia and her husband Tyler welcomed their little baby boy into the world.

Alyssa started at MEP as a temporary receptionist and moved her way to Administration Assistant in March, 2014. Amanda came to MEP Engineering in March of 2012 after 7 years in the hospitality industry. She is experienced in all aspects of business management and marketing. She develops, promotes and executes MEP Engineering’s strategic sales and marketing plan. Her proven experience in developing “big picture” goals, coupled with excellent execution of all the details continues to lead MEP Engineering to grow in new directions. Her prompt and systematic servicing of all corporate accounts through consultative relationship development results in “Win-Win” business partnerships built on trust and mutual growth.



Amanda has a beautiful one-year-old daughter named Emery and is an excellent mom. Amanda enjoys playing soccer, softball, hiking and running half marathons.

Amber joined us in February 2011. As an experienced CAD Operator, she was quickly promoted to our BIM Coordinator Position. As our industry explores the deeper benefits of BIM, Amber leads the effort to ensure all project models are set up according to correct project standards. Outside of work, Amber enjoys movie and game nights, as well as going camping and hiking.

She relished traveling to Mexico and the Caribbean and plans to travel more in the future. She likes to stay active by playing volleyball, softball, mini golf, and Frisbee golf. Amber has a cat named Milo with a big personality. Amber is a Colorado native who grew up here with her two brothers and one sister.

Amy was a welcome addition to the MEP team in early 2017. Raised by family members in the industry, she joined it in 2003. She recently completed the HVAC/plumbing design for a 120,000 GSF middle school building in Papillion La Vista School District. During this project, she was creative and focused on energy efficiency to incorporate ventilation controls, day lighting, high volume-low speed fans, and geothermal heat pumps.

In her personal time, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Monte, and two kids, Brenna and Tripp. Amy and her family moved to Colorado from Nebraska and are having a great time exploring the Denver area. Her hobbies also include reading, cooking, and spoiling the family dog (Great Dane – Great Pyrenees mix), Tank

Braden is a Colorado native. He loves the outdoors, skydiving, and scuba diving. Braden’s family encourages his love for traveling and he plans to travel as often as he can.

BIOGRAPHY:
In September of 2016, Brett joined MEP Engineering as a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 23 years of experience working at MEP consulting firms. Brett’s favorite project so far was the Hewlett Packard Dining Hall and Data Center at their 335,000 SF facility in Greeley, CO. On this project, his team acted as the commissioning agent as well as doing the MEP engineering/design as the prime consultant.

Brett has been married to his wife, Regina, for 26 years and they have two boys named Andrew and William. Andrew is a junior at Baylor University and Will is a senior in high school. Brett loves to travel, especially to the UK to tour the castles. When he is not traveling, Brett’s favorite pastimes are hiking, rock climbing, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Brian has been with MEP Engineering since February 2012. He previously attended Colorado School of Mines and majored in Mechanical Engineering. Brian is especially interested in LEED Design Projects. Brian and the TI team have a project turnaround time of 5-7 days. Despite this pressure, they are absolutely fantastic at what they do!

Outside of work, Brian is a Colorado Native that loves to homebrew his own beer, collect records and go hiking. He also enjoys long road trips through our beautiful Centennial State. Brian has gone on numerous cross country road trips with his friends and family.

Bryan really enjoys watching football and basketball as well as making the most of the beautiful Colorado outdoors. In his free time, he likes to go hunting, camping, fishing, riding ATV’s, and snowboarding. Although he really enjoys Colorado, Bryan is originally from Wisconsin and he is a huge fan of both the Packers and Badgers. Byron became a member of our Mechanical Engineering team in November 2013. As an experienced, licensed master plumber, he brings real-world knowledge to MEP that allows him to produce highly- functioning and cost -effective designs.

Byron is a proud Colorado native who grew up in Aurora with his three brothers and two sisters. He is an excellent father of three boys. He loves fishing, hiking, boating, and mountain biking with his wife and kids. His other hobbies include cooking, photography, classic cars, and playing bass. His favorite getaway would include traveling to Steamboat Springs and enjoying some deep dish pizza!

Clara is an Electrical Project Engineer with over 12 years of experience in the engineering field. She performs electrical, lighting, and photometric engineering design services as well as team coordination for all electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings with other team members, contractors and vendors. She has provided site evaluation, design development, construction document and construction administration for new construction as well as renovation projects. Her project knowledge ranges from churches, to retail and restaurants.

Clara and her husband Andrew have four boys Andrew, Alex, Addison, and Anderson. They love spending time with their boys and spend most their free time attending the boy’s sporting events. Clara also really enjoys relaxing, watching movies, and working out.

Dan joined the MEP team in November of 2016. He came with 20 years of experience in the field. He obtained a BS in Systems Engineering from West Point, NY. Thus far in his career, one of his favorite projects was the renovation of the Art Gallery building in the historic core at Stanford University. He enjoyed the opportunity to be part of a great project team that conquered the several technical challenges involved with modern equipment and performance in a historic building.

Outside of work, Dan loves to spend time with his three boys Oliver, Ian, and Simon. They are currently working on turning a toolshed in their backyard into a fort.

David enjoys a wide variety of recreational activities including keeping tarantulas. He has a great sense of humor which makes the work atmosphere a fun and entertaining place to be. David grew up in Pensacola, Florida. He and his wife loved to come to Colorado for vacation. They enjoyed Colorado so much, that they decided this was the place they wanted to spend the rest of their lives and moved here.

Dennis has over 40 years of experience in electrical consulting and design. Dennis likes to stay busy; he is always working on a project, no matter if it is work related or a personal project.

Dimitri is a Colorado native who earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He came to the MEP Engineering team in March 2014 and has been an integral part of the team ever since. Dimitri represented MEP Engineering while traveling in South Korea with LG to learn more about their new HVAC equipment that has yet to hit the US market. He visited the research and development facilities, manufacturing plans, and several Korean BBQ restaurants.

Dimitri really enjoys playing soccer and basketball as well as traveling to Greece to see his family. Dimitri is of Greek heritage and speaks Greek fluently. He volunteers as a cook at the annual Greek Festival at the Assumption Greek Cathedral every year.

BIOGRAPHY:
Dylan has been a Mechanical Project Engineer with MEP Engineering since April 2016. He came to MEP straight after finishing his BSE in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics and Chemistry from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. Dylan enjoyed creating a solar oven during college, a hands-on project which involved a great deal of teamwork and creative thinking. The oven was created for under twenty-five dollars, was made almost exclusively of cardboard and mylar, and cooked eggs within two hours in the AZ winter.

Dylan was born in California, then moved to Arizona for college, and ended up in Colorado to join the MEP team. Dylan’s hobbies include Krav Maga, which is a form of self-defense. He took up the art four years ago as a way to get exercise and plans to become an instructor in the near future. Dylan has also recently begun leather crafting, which he is still new to, but really enjoys.

Eric enjoys staying active and has been a competitive jump roper for 16 years. He also was a member of the USAJR All-Star team for 4 years. He is proud to have 7 national titles, 2 grand national titles, and one world title in competition.

Ernest is studied Landscape Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and went on to become a registered Landscape Architect in the State of Colorado. He came to MEP Engineering as a drafter in January 2014 and has over 15 years of experience.

Ernest has a very creative mind. His favorite hobbies include oil painting, watercolor, and computer graphics. He also enjoys going to museums and used book stores. He has raised a wide variety of animals such as horses, sheep, chickens, and two dogs. Ernest is originally from Phoenix Arizona. He briefly lived in California after his discharge from the Air Force and then landed with the MEP Team here in Denver. He is now a proud husband and a father of two college-age daughters.

Gabi is a dedicated employee who brings two years of experience to our company. She is working on her degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and is a huge buff’s fan. She joined the MEP Engineering team in January of 2013. One of her favorite projects was Studio Como. It was a very small project, but still very design intensive. She loved learning about the relationship between the client, owner and utilities. Gabi also learned about the importance of creating and maintaining excellent documentation during this project.

When Gabi is not working, she loves dancing, crafting and playing sports. She was born and raised in Texas with her older brother Victor. She loves to travel back there to see her friends and family. One day, she dreams of travelling to Greece and Spain. Gabi has a 2-year-old English bulldog who loves to visit us here at our MEP office and is always welcome!

Gene joined our Engineering team with six years’ experience in the field. Gene is originally from Phoenix, AZ but has since lived in many areas around the country. After engineering school, Gene worked in the research sector as a Biomedical Engineer. When he moved to Tucson, AZ, Gene started worked on a DARPA research project developing a new method to make titanium metal. When that project ended, he was employed as a Mining Engineer designing the layout and function of large-scale mining projects and process plants throughout the western hemisphere from the U.S. and Canada to Peru. This type of work continued when he moved to Denver in mid-2014. Gene wanted a new challenge and a change in direction which ultimately led him to MEP Engineering. Gene looks forward to the many challenges ahead.

Gene and his wife have been married 11 years and have two kids, ages 4 and 9.

Greta joined us in May of 2015. She has a background and education in psychology with a specialty in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Some of her favorite areas include training and development, career development, mentoring and communication.

She recently moved to Colorado from Minnesota. Greta and her husband Nate have two dogs, one is a six-year-old Shiba lnu and the other is a four-year-old Black Lab and Pit-bull mix. The latter was originally a foster dog until the couple fell in love with him and couldn’t give him up! Greta grew up in Minnesota and went to college in Wisconsin. She then moved to Seattle for grad school and then eventually moved to Colorado. She enjoys refinishing furniture, making quilts, doing yard work and spending time with her son Hudson.

Isaac became part of the MEP Engineering team in July of 2016 as a Mechanical Project Engineer. In college, Isaac really enjoyed several projects such as designing a Formula 1 car, creating an underwater case for a portable camera, and designing a picatinny mount for a smartphone.

Isaac has lived in several states including Montana, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. This gave him a wide perspective and appreciation of different cultures within the United States. His hobbies include playing several different instruments such as oboe, trumpet, bass, piano, and guitar.

Jeff is part of our Senior Operational Team. He came to MEP with over 11 years of experience in the field and continues to expand his knowledge. Jeff’s design experience includes production of construction plans, system specifications and coordination between various disciplines, clients, and owner representatives on a variety of projects. He also has experience with Commercial and Residential projects such as Office, Retail, Restaurant, Office/Warehouse, Schools, Churches and Multifamily projects.

Jeff is the 5th generation in his family of Colorado natives. He was one of four siblings. However, he was the only male in the family growing up. He now has a wife and a little boy of his own. He enjoys spending time with family, teaching his son sports, fishing, and life lessons. He is a Denver Broncos and MMA fan. Jeff enjoys trips to the mountains and vacations to Hana, Hawaii. However his most memorable vacation experience took place in Vietnam where he got to shoot an AK47 in a jungle near Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), see the Da Nag beach on the South China Sea and got caught in a huge thunderstorm in Mekong Delta.

We welcomed John to our Engineering team in June 2015. His favorite projects include tenant finishes and heat load calculations on buildings.

Jonathan enjoys all forms of art and loves to incorporate that into each of his designs.

One of her favorite opportunities was getting to design an apartment complex in Boulder where she worked with a fourth grade class. The majority of students lived in the project area and she got to hear their insightful feedback about the design. It gave her joy to see how much the fourth graders cared about their surroundings.

Shortly thereafter, she attended Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and graduated with a MA in Instruction. Her experience in teaching middle and high school reinforced the notion that learning, like life, is about adding up the little successes. Before MEP, she spent two years in logistics arranging shipments ranging from solar powered cell phone chargers to million dollar printing machines.

As one of three founding Principals with MEP Engineering, Inc., Roger has 15 years of experience in the engineering consulting field, with an emphasis on electrical, fire alarm, and telecom building systems. Roger is responsible for the design of systems including production of construction plans, specifications and system cost analysis, as well as coordination between various disciplines, clients, and owner representatives. His wide range of project experience, including mechanical HVAC design and plumbing design, has enabled him to bring many different approaches to projects whether it is an approach to solve a budget consideration or to provide unique design solutions to a project. His education as an Architectural Engineer has allowed him to expand his knowledge into the mechanical and plumbing disciplines enabling him to truly understand all the systems within a building. With the ability to visualize a project from start to finish, difficult building system problems become very clear and concise.

Roger has been happily married to his wife Carla for over twenty-three years. They have two wonderful children, Jessica who is sixteen years old and David who is twenty years old. Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time in the sunshine and hanging out with his family and especially is son Connor who is fourteen years old. As far as sports are concerned, Tom really likes motocross, flatrack, road racing, and basically anything with two or more wheels. Tom has been married to his wonderful wife Stacie for 23 years and they have a son, Nate who is attending college at Colorado State University. They also have a small Pomeranian named Joey.

BIOGRAPHY:

As one of MEP Engineering’s Mechanical Design Engineers, Travis brings over six years of experience as an engineer in both low and high-rise facilities. He is a Colorado Registered E.I. and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Travis has a passion for gravity sports including snowboarding, downhill mountain biking, and heli-skiing. He really enjoys watching hockey and is a huge Colorado Avalanche fan! He has two turtles named Tweedle and Tenacious. Travis has lived with his sister and parents in Colorado since he was six months old. Travis will be marrying his fiancée in January 2016 in Switzerland!

BIOGRAPHY:

Travis joined our Engineering team as an Electrical Project Engineer in November of 2012. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management. Travis brings six years of experience to the company and is currently a registered Engineer Intern with the State of Colorado. His specialty in recent years includes electrical design on a variety of projects including: Major League Sports and Event Venues, K-12 Educational Facilities, and Multi-Family Residential Complexes.

Travis loves to snowboard, play disc golf, and hike. He is also an important team member of our MEP Engineering softball team. He finds pleasure in traveling and his favorite vacation spot is a tie between Hawaii and Costa Rica. Travis was born in Houston, Texas, and moved here with his parents when he was seven years old. He and his wife Kristin have two boys Parker and Brady.

BIOGRAPHY:

In February 2017, Whitney joined MEP’s drafting team. She is currently wrapping up her certificate in CAD from Arapahoe Community College, with an expected completion date of 2017. Whitney is very excited to use her knowledge obtained from college and has enjoyed work on both mechanical and electrical drafting here at MEP.

During her free time, she enjoys going out for short hikes with her dog Jadie and creating small art projects.
