Caring for a loved one in ill physical health or who is suffering from dementia can be a challenging and emotional experience. Encountering a clean, well-lit care environment can be a burden-lifting experience for so many caregivers desiring to transition their relatives to an assisted living facility.
To meet the growing need of caring for the elderly in our community, we designed a 5-story, 88,500 square foot building with each floor arranged as follows.
The 1st floor: Approximately 14,823 square feet. It was designed to include a kitchen and dining hall, chapel, salon, theater, fitness and therapy room, administration, and support areas.
The 2nd floor: Approximately 19,175 square feet. It was designed for dementia residences. The space included twenty-two studios, one and two bedroom configurations as well as offices, laundry, dining, serving area, spa, and activity spaces.
The 3rd through 5th floors: Approximately 54,485 square feet combined. These floors included sixty-six assisted living studios, one bedroom, and two bedroom configurations as well as office, laundry, spa, art/crafts area, library/café, and activities spaces. The fourth floor included a penthouse unit. All residences included a bar sink area and three piece bathroom with a shower. This facility was designed to meet all HUD requirements.
