Colorado State University—Pueblo Student Housing Building I

One look at this airy, light-filled student housing facility will make you want to go back to school. We designed the main level student common areas to incorporate everything today’s student needs: a central classroom, great room, private conference room, warming pantry, cyber lounge, central laundry facilities, mail room, and administration and waiting area.

We designed the student housing floors to include four different student dorm unit plans, each including a restroom with a shower:

  • Two bed – shared
  • Two bed – private
  • One bed – private
  • Two plus two bed – shared

Gather lots of students in one space and you’ll need lots of hot and cold water. We designed the mechanical system for the building to use a highly-efficient central Aquatherm system, combining the building’s heating water needs in a common piping system with the facilities’ domestic hot water system.

We assembled the project design using sustainable guidelines, performance benchmarks and supporting documentation to pursue a LEED® certification. This project has been registered with the USGBC and achieved LEED Gold Certification.
